He was a scholarship holder of the Tutorial Education Program (2000-2003) at UNIFAL-MG, Substitute Professor of Analytical Chemistry at FCFRP/USP and is currently Associate Professor III at the Federal University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ). Since 2011, he has been supervising undergraduate and graduate students (Master's and PhD students) in the Postgraduate Programs in Physics and Chemistry of Materials (FQMat) (since 2011) and in the Multicenter Postgraduate Program in Chemistry of Minas Gerais (PPGMQ-MG) (since 2013). He is currently the coordinator of FQMat (2024-2026). He coordinates projects funded by FAPEMIG (6 Universal, Structuring Networks, Innovation Maturity Increase), CAPES (1 Event Organization) and CNPq (3 Universal, 1 Post-Doc professor and 1 Doc student). He also coordinates/coordinated institutional research projects funded by a funding agency: 5 CT-INFRA-FINEP projects, 2 SOS Equipamentos FINEP and 2 Pró-equipamentos-CAPES Projects. He is a member of the editorial board of Frontier in Analytical Sciences, Molecules and Processes and a reviewer for more than 50 national and international journals. He has given several lectures at national and international events. He is a full member of the Brazilian Chemical Society (MG Regional) and the Minas Gerais Chemistry Network (RMQ), of which he was deputy coordinator (2020-2023). He has developed research with scientific independence in the area of Analytical Chemistry, Toxicology and Materials, working mainly on the following topics: stereoselective analysis of drugs and metabolites by HPLC, UPLC, GC, CE and their coupling with mass spectrometry (MS and MS/MS) in biological material and pharmaceutical formulations using classical and miniaturized techniques as sample preparation, aiming at applications in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology areas, in addition to working on the development of new adsorbent materials for application in sample preparation techniques (classical and miniaturized) and contaminant adsorption processes. To date, he has completed the supervision of 15 scientific initiations, 14 master's dissertations, 4 co-supervisions of master's degrees, 10 doctoral theses, 1 doctoral co-supervision and 2 postdoctoral supervisions. He is currently supervising 4 master's dissertations and 4 doctoral theses. He has received the following main awards: Prêmio Teses 2011 (CAPES, Honorable Mention), Young Investigator 2011 (Bioanalysis), Emerging Investigator 2015 (RSC, Analytical Methods) and Prêmio Destaque em Pesquisa (SBQ-MG, Jovem Talento). To date, he has 1 book, 11 book chapters, 12 patent applications, 1 licensed industrial design and more than 130 papers published in specialized journals with selective editorial policy, which generated an h factor equal to 27 (Scopus and Web of Science ~2400 citations) and 31 Google Scholar (~3100 citations: i10 index = 90) and whose sum of the Impact Index of the last 10 years is greater than 400. He is corresponding author in 75 and first author in 14 of the published articles, 41 of which are collaborations with other research groups. He is the leader of the Research, Innovation and Analytical Development Group (PID Analítico) and Coordinator of the Separations Laboratory (LASEP) since 2011 (13 years). In the innovation area, he has guided students in Entrepreneurial Education and also in innovation in research, in addition to being part of the innovation tutors at UFSJ.
