O minicurso será oferecido como parte do Programa VELF- Virtual English Language Teaching, parceria da UFSJ com a Regional English Language Office (RELO), da Embaixada dos EUA.
Título: Special education needs in English Language Teaching
Descrição:This is an intensive short-term 4-week course focused on Differentiated Instruction and Assessment in Special Education. It will take place for four hours a week throughout the four weeks, comprising a total of 16 hours. 2 hours a week will be live discussion through Zoom/Google Meets and the remaining 2 hours will be devoted to asynchronous work. Through the course students will also learn how to apply the content when teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and explore different educational technologies available for students with disabilities.
Professora que irá ministrar o curso:Caitlin Antaya
Caitlin Antaya is currently an ENL (English as a New Language) teacher in New York City. In the past she has taught English in Spain and was a Fulbright ETA working at a university in Turkey. She is a graduate of New York University (MA) and St. John Fisher College (BS).

Total de horas:16h (2 horas de atividades síncronas e 2 de atividades assíncronas por semana)
Encontros síncronos:Segundas-feiras de 19h-21h (23/08; 30/08; 06/09; 13/09), pela plataforma Zoom ou Meet, a ser informado posteriormente.

Termo de compromisso:o/a participante que não comparecer na primeira semana do curso, seja por forma síncrona ou assíncrona, será automaticamente desligado/a e sua vaga será repassada ao próximo nome na lista de inscrição.
Haverá emissão de certificados pela RELO e COLIL. Os certificados estarão condicionados à frequência e participação no curso (mais informações serão dadas posteriormente).
As horas poderão ser contabilizadas como horas complementares.
