1. Every student must take the Qualifying Exam.
 
1.1. The Master's and Doctoral Qualification Exams must be carried out, respectively, up to a maximum of the 210th and 330th month of the course.
 
1.2. The student who presents, as the first author, an article published or accepted for publication in a Qualis A journal, related to the subject of the thesis, and together with his advisor, will be exempt from the Qualification Exam.
 
2. The Collegiate, having received the required documents and the results of the dissertation or thesis project, will approve an Examining Board, appointed by the supervisor, to carry out the Qualification Exam, by evaluating the progress of the project.
 
2.1. The Examining Board, composed of at least 3 (three) researchers of recognized competence, including the Advisor professor, will issue an opinion to the Collegiate on the oral defense of the project by the student, indicating its approval, approval conditioned to the incorporation of modifications or disapproval .
 
2.2. In the event of the need for substantial changes to the Project, the Board will set a new date for the re-presentation of the Project and a new Qualification Exam.
 
2.3. The Project that has received at least 1 (one) disapproval report from the Examining Board will be considered as disapproved.
 
2.4. Failure of the dissertation or thesis project in two Qualifying Exams will result in the student's dismissal from the Program.
